Justified by Faith Romans 3:28

Paul the apostle told the Jews in Rome, God set forth Jesus, “to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believes in Jesus”, and he asked, Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? No: but by the law of faith.” In chapter three and verse twenty-eight of Romans, Paul shared how they have “” where we read:

Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.
The verse begins, Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith ... Paul began with the words, “therefore” which means “then, accordingly, consequently and these things being so” “we conclude” or “Paul and his companions reckon, count, compute, calculate and take into account” “that a man” which means “that a human being whether male or female” “is justified” or “is rendered righteous, such as it ought to be, declared and pronounced to be just” “by faith” which means “through and by means of the conviction that God exists and is the creator and ruler of all things, the provider and bestower of eternal salvation through Christ”. Paul and his companions “reckoned” that people are “as they ought to be before God” by means of “belief and trust”.

The verse goes on to say, ...without the deeds of the law.Paul continued with the words, “without” or “separate, apart and besides” “the deeds” which means “the business, employment, that which any one is occupied, undertaking, act and thing done” “of the law” which means “with the rule producing a state approved of God”. Paul and his companions “reckoned” people to be “justified” through “belief and trust” and not the “undertakings and acts” according to obedience to “God's rule of approval”.

When we consider these words of Paul, we should rejoice in the fact that Jesus Christ kept the “law of God” perfectly, and now all that is necessary to be “just as if I'd” never sinned, is to have “faith” and “Trust” in Jesus. The “law of God” is perfect, and people are not, and with the exception of Jesus, no one kept it perfectly. Because Jesus Christ fulfilled the law of God and paid the price for the “sins and errors” of the whole world, people who have “faith” in Him are now “just as if they never sinned”.

Next time Paul asks the people in Rome,God of the Jews only? Is he not also of the Gentiles?, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
