The Law Says to Them Under the Law Romans 3:19

Paul the apostle told the Jews in Rome, “There is none righteous, no, not one:” There is none that understands, there is none that seeks after God”, and he added, “they are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that does good, no, not one. Their throat is an open sepulcher; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips: Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness. Their feet are swift to shed blood: Destruction and misery are in their ways: And the way of peace have they not known: There is no fear of God before their eyes.” In chapter three and verse nineteen of Romans, Paul shared how, “the law says, it says to them who are under the law” where we read:

Now we know that what things soever the law says, it says to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.
The verse begins, Now we know that what things soever the law says, it says to them who are under the law: Paul began with the word, “now” which means “but and moreover” “we know” or “Paul, his companions and the church members perceive, notice, discern and discover” “that what things soever” which means “as great as, far as, how much and many” “the law” or “the rule producing a state approved of God” “says” which means “speaks, affirms, maintains, points out and mentions”, “it says” or “the law speaks, affirms, maintains, points out and mentions” “to them” which refers to “toward the people” “who are under” or “that are with and beneath” “the law” which refers to “the rule producing a state approved of God”. Paul shared how “the law” of God was for those who were “subject” to what it “says”.

The verse continues, that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.Paul added the words, “that every mouth” which refers to “so each, the whole, all and everyone of the orifices in the front of the face used for voice and vocal sounds” “may be stopped” or “fenced in, blocked up, closed up and put to silence”, “and all the world” which means “and each, every, the whole and everyone in the circle of the earth's goods, endowments riches, advantages and pleasures” “may become guilty” or “might come into existence, be performed and work under judgment and liable to punishment” “before God” or “in front of the Godhead bodily and trinity which is comprised of God the Father, Christ the Son and the Holy Spirit”. Paul declared how God's “law” and people's subjection to it would be validated and cause every person to be without excuse and reason and be “guilty” in front of God.

When we consider these words of Paul, we see how God's “law” brought about the “guilt” of those who were “beneath” it. In other words, God's “law” exposed the “law breaking” encompassed by those reading it. No one could keep “the law of God”, and no person in the entire “world” could not “boast” about keeping it. The “law” shows “every person” “guilty”, and the need for Jesus Christ is revealed. This is why He came. “Salvation” comes through Jesus Christ, and since everyone is “guilty”, everyone is in need of Him. May all who read these words understand the purpose of “God's law” and find themselves yielding to God's offer of “everlasting life” through His Son Jesus.

Next time Paul tells the people in Rome,by the deeds of the law there shall not flesh be justified, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
