Sin Not Imputed with No Law Romans 5:13

Paul the apostle told the Jews in Rome, “as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin;
and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned, and in chapter five and verse thirteen of Romans, Paul began a parenthetical phrase as he shared how, “sin is not imputed when there is no law” where we read:

(For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law.
The verse begins, “(For until the law sin was in the world:Paul began with the word, “for” which means “even as, indeed, no doubt, seeing then, verily and therefore” “until the law” or “unto the time the rule producing a state approved of God” “sin” which means “to miss the mark, err or be mistaken”“was in the world” or “was present within the circle of earthly goods, endowments, riches, advantages and pleasures”. Paul shared how “sin” was on earth even before God's “law” was given.

The verse continues, but sin is not imputed when there is no law.Paul added the word, “but” which is a disassociation conjunction that means what is about to be written takes precedence over what was just stated “sin” or “missing the mark, erring or being mistaken” “is not imputed” which means “is not reckoned, set to one's account or laid to one's charge” “when” or “at the moment and time” “there is no law” which means “there exists no rule producing a state approved of God”. When there is “no law” a person is not “charged” with it.

When we think through these words of Paul, we see how people can “violate” “Godly laws” that are unknown to them. Just because there is no knowledge of the “law” doesn't mean the “law” cannot be violated. In other words, when it comes to God's “law”, ignorance is not an excuse. People went against God's rules before they had them, and these “sins” were manifested even without knowledge. Jesus Christ came to save people from their “sins”, and whether they have the “law of God” or not, they have violated it. Jesus came to “fulfill” the “law”, and by keeping it perfectly, He became the “sacrifice” for all the “sin” in the world. Now all that is necessary is to “repent of sin, trust in Him and follow Him forever” for this is God's available “good news” of the “gospel” for all who shall receive it.

Next time Paul refers to how, “death reigned from Adam to Moses, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.

Until tomorrow…there is more…
