The Law Not Void by Established Romans 3:31

Paul the apostle asked the Jews in Rome, “is he the God of the Jews only? is he not also of the Gentiles? Yes, of the Gentiles also: Seeing it is one God, which shall justify the circumcision by faith, and uncircumcision through faith.”, and in chapter three and verse thirty of Romans, Paul asked how they have “do we...make void the law through faith?”, and he answered “we establish the law” where we read:

Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law.
The verse begins, “Do we then make void the law through faith?” Paul began with the words, “do we” which means “does Paul and his companions” “then” or “therefore, accordingly, consequently and these things being so” “ make void” or “render idle, unemployed, inactive and inoperative” “the law” which refers to “the rule producing a state approved of God” “through faith” which means “by means of the conviction that God exists and is the creator and ruler of all things and the provider and bestower of eternal salvation through Christ”. Paul questioned whether his readers thought he and his companions “voided” the “law of God” by having “faith” alone.

The verse continues, God forbid: yes, we establish the law.Paul added the words, “God forbid” or “no and in no way, perish the thought” “yes” which means “nevertheless, notwithstanding and moreover”, “we establish” or “Paul and his companions cause or make to stand and set up” “the law” which means “the rule producing a state approved of God”. Paul told his readers to “perish the thought” of making the “law of God” “inactive and inoperative”, and he surmised that they “made firm and set up” God's law by “belief and trust” in Jesus. Paul exclaimed, “perish the thought” because by “faith” they actually “stood, set up and validated” “the law”.

When we consider these words of Paul, we see how he and his companions could never “make void” God's law, but through “faith and trust” in Jesus who kept the “law” perfectly, they “caused the law to be established”. God desires to show people their “sinfulness” through His law, and when they recognize it, they should turn to Jesus Christ for salvation who kept it completely. God sent His “perfect” Son Jesus into the world to “establish” His law and to “save” everyone who puts their “faith and trust” in Him. May all who read these words realize the “established law of God” and find themselves turning to Jesus for “Salvation” unto “everlasting life”.

Next time we begin a new chapter and see Paul asks a question about,“Abraham our father, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
