The Law Works Wrath Romans 4:15

Paul the apostle declared with the Jews in Rome,“For the promise, that he should be the heir of the world, was not to Abraham, or to his seed, through the law, but through the righteousness of faith”, and he added, “For if they which are of the law be heirs, faith is made void, and the promise made of none effect”. In chapter four and verse fifteen of Romans, Paul referred to how Abraham, “the law works wrath” where we read:

Because the law works wrath: for where no law is, there is no transgression.
The verse begins, “Because the law works wrath:” Paul began with the word, “because” which means “even as, indeed, seeing then, verily and therefore” “the law” or “the rule producing a state approved of God” “works wrath” or “performs, accomplishes and achieves anger, temper, impulse, indignation and any violent emotion”. Paul shared how “the rule producing a state approved of God” “accomplishes indignation and violent emotion”.

The verse continues, for where no law is, there is no transgression.Paul added the words, “for where” which means “even as, indeed, seeing then, verily and therefore at which place and wither” “no law is” or “there is not a rule producing a state approved of God”, “there is no transgression” which means “there does not exist the breach of a definite, promulgated and ratified rule”. Paul shared how if there existed no “law” or “rule” that described what is pleasing to God, there could be no “violation” of that “law” or “rule”.

When we consider these words of Paul, we see how the “law” produces “anger and temper” because it cannot be kept by those to whom it is given. If there never was a “law of God”, there would never be knowledge of what a “violation” of it would be. Because there is a “rule producing a state approved of God”, anyone who “breaches” it “misses the mark” and is known as a “sinner”. This is why Jesus came. The “law of God” shows the “guilt” of people and their need for a “Savior”, and that “Savior” is Jesus. Let all who understand these words submit themselves to the “Lordship” of Jesus Christ and find all their “transgressions” forgiven and cleansed.

Next time Paul concludes, Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace;”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
