The Dead Freed from Sin Romans 6:7

Paul the apostle shared with the people in Rome, our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin”, and in chapter six and verse seven of Romans, Paul shared how the person who is “dead is”, “freed from sin” where we read:

For he that is dead is freed from sin.
The verse begins, For he that is dead ...” Paul began with the word, “for” which means “because and since” “he that is dead” which means “the person who has perished or slain”. Paul referred to the person who has become “lifeless and inanimate” to “sinful ways”.

The verse goes on to say, ... is freed from sin.Paul continued with the words, “is freed” which means “is rendered righteous or such as he ought to be” “from sin” or “separated from missing the mark, erring and being mistaken”. Paul shared how those who have become “dead” to their “sinful ways” are now “set at liberty and made righteous” from “sin's” power.

When we think through these words of Paul, we see the benefit to being “set free” from “sin” and it's power. The person who has become “dead” to their “sin” are made “righteous” with God and live accordingly. In other words, “sin” has lost it's power, and Jesus Christ has provided the way to be “righteous” with God. May all who read these words become “dead” to their “sins” and alive unto an eternal relationship with God.

Next time Paul tells the people in Rome, “if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
