Jesus into Capernaum Again - Luke 7:1

Luke the beloved physician wrote how Jesus said, “Whosoever comes to me, and hears my sayings, and does them, I will show you to whom he is like. He is like a man which built an house, and digs deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock. But he that hears, and does not, is like a man that without a foundation built an house upon the earth; against which the stream did beat vehemently, and immediately it fell; and the ruin of that house was great”, and in chapter seven and verse one of his book Luke shares how Jesus, “entered into Capernaum” again, where we read:

Now when he had ended all his sayings in the audience of the people, he entered into Capernaum.

The verse reads, “Now when he had ended all his sayings in the audience of the people, ...” Luke began with the words, “Now when he had ended” or “Moreover at the time and moment Jesus completed and finished” “all his sayings” which means “each, every, the whole and all of the utterances, declarations and proclamations of Jesus” “in the audience” or “within the hearing” “of the people” which means “pertaining to the human beings both male and female”. Luke shared how Jesus “completed” His teaching and instruction to the people and did the following.

The verse continues, “... he entered into Capernaum.” Luke added the words, “he entered” which means “Jesus made entrance and came forth” “into Capernaum” or “into the city of Capernaum which means village of comfort and was a flourishing city of Galilee situated on the western shore of the Sea of Galilee or Lake of Gennesaret near the place where the Jordan flows into the lake”. Luke shared how Jesus returned to the city of “Capernaum” where He based His ministry.

When we consider Luke's words in this verse, we see how Jesus “completed” teaching to the people who gathered around Him, and He went back to His ministry base city of “Capernaum”. Jesus was constantly on the move as He ministered to people, and because He desires to offer “salvation” to every person, He demonstrated how mobile He was when He was on the earth. God has provided His Holy Spirit today who is able to be everywhere at once, and Jesus said, the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you” (See John 14:26). Jesus is available to everyone wherever they are, and those who are wise will search for Him and discover He is willing to be found.

Next time Luke shares about, “a certain centurion's servant, who was dear unto him, was sick, and ready to die”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
