Jesus is Not Here, But is Risen - Luke 24:6

Luke the beloved physician wrote about the women who knew Jesus, “upon the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they came unto the sepulcher, bringing the spices which they had prepared, and certain others with them. And they found the stone rolled away from the sepulcher. And they entered in, and found not the body of the Lord Jesus. And it came to pass, as they were much perplexed thereabout, behold, two men stood by them in shining garments. And as they were afraid, and bowed down their faces to the earth, they said unto them, Why seek you the living among the dead?”, and in chapter twenty-four and verse six of his book Luke shared how the two men in shining garments told the women, “He is not here, but is risen” where we read:

He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee,

The verse reads,He is not here, but is risen:” Luke began with the words, “He is not here or “He, Jesus, is not within this location and place”, “but is risen” which means “yes, moreover and notwithstanding Jesus has aroused, awaken and been recalled from the dead to life”. Luke shared how the angels told the women that Jesus was not within the tomb because He was “awakened and resurrected from the dead”.

The verse goes on to say, “... remember how he spoke unto you when he was yet in Galilee” Luke continued with the words, “remember how he spoke unto you” which means “recall to mind and be reminded what Jesus said to you, women” “when he was yet in Galilee” or “at the time and moment Jesus was in the area and region known as Galilee which means circuit and was the name of a region of northern Palestine, bounded on the north by Syria, on the west by Sidon, Tyre, Ptolemais and their territories and the promontory of Carmel, on the south by Samaria and on the east by the Jordan”? Luke shared how the “two men or angels” reminded the women about what Jesus told them when He was in the area known as “Galilee”.

When we think through Luke's words in this verse, we learn the message given to the women by the “two angels”. They said Jesus was not in the “sepulcher” any longer, but was “risen” or “resurrected” from the dead just like He told them when He was in “Galilee”. The announcement was in, and Jesus was “resurrected” from the dead. Now salvation was available for everyone who believes and trusts in Him. Those who examine the details of God's plan to “save” mankind should carefully consider receiving Jesus as their “Savior and Lord”.

Next time Luke shares how the two men reminded the women how Jesus said, “the Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
