The beloved physician Luke wrote how Jesus said, “Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do. But I will forewarn you whom you shall fear: Fear him, which after he has killed has power to cast into hell; yes, I say unto you, Fear him. Are not five sparrows sold for two farthings, and not one of them is forgotten before God? But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: you are of more value than many sparrows”, and in chapter twelve and verse eight of his book Luke shared how Jesus tells His disciples, “whosoever shall confess me before men, him shall the Son of man also confess before the angels of God” where we read:
Also I say unto you, Whosoever shall confess me before men,
him shall the Son of man also confess before the angels of God:
The verse reads, “Also I say unto you, Whosoever shall confess me before men, ...” Luke began with the words, “also I say unto you” or “even so and indeed I, Jesus, utter, declare and proclaim unto the people who were listening”, “whosoever shall confess me” which means “whatever person whether male or female will agree with, consent to, concede and not refuse Jesus” “before men” or “in front of and in the presence of people whether male or female”. Luke shared how Jesus referred to the people who “agree with” and “consent to” Him in the presence of other people.
The verse goes on to say, “... him shall the Son of man also confess before the angels of God:” Luke continued with the words, “him shall the Son of man” or “that person whether male or female will the Son of man who is Jesus” “also confess” which means “even so and indeed agree with, consent to, concede and not refuse” “before the angels of God” or “in front of and in the presence of the messengers and envoys belonging to the Godhead bodily and trinity which is comprised of God the Father, Christ the Son and the Holy Spirit”. Luke shared how Jesus would “agree with” and “consent to” the person who “agrees with” Him in front His “Father God's” messengers.
When we meditate upon Luke's words in this verse, we see how there is a direct relationship between the person who “agrees with” Jesus and their being “consented to” in the presence of God Almighty. The idea is people who “acknowledge” and “do not refuse” their relationship with Jesus will be “acknowledged” before God. No one who has a personal relationship with Jesus should “conceal” it, and when they share with others their belief and trust in Jesus, He will “confess” them before His Father God and His “angels”.
Next time Luke shares how Jesus tells His disciples, “he that denies me before men shall be denied before the angels of God”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
