Saying God has Forgotten - Psalms 10:11

In Psalms chapter ten David said, “the wicked boasts of his heart's desire, and … his mouth is full of cursing and deceit and fraud: under his tongue is mischief and vanity. He sits in the lurking places of the villages: in the secret places does he murder the innocent: his eyes are privily set against the poor. He lies in wait secretly as a lion in his den: he lies in wait to catch the poor: he does catch the poor, when he draws him into his net. He crouches, and humbles himself, that the poor may fall by his strong ones”, and in Psalms chapter ten and verse eleven David said, “He has said in his heart, God has forgotten where we read,

He has said in his heart, God has forgotten: he hides his face; he will never see it.

The verse begins, He has said in his heart, God has forgotten:” David began with the words, “He has said in his heart” which means “the wicked person uttered, declared and proclaimed within their inner man, mind and soul”, “God has forgotten” or “the True Supreme God has ignored, ceased to care and is oblivious”. David shared how the wicked person believes within their soul that the True God is oblivious to their acts and deeds.

The verse goes on to say,he hides his face; he will never see it.David continued with the words, “he hides his face” or “he, the True Supreme God, conceals and keeps secret his presence and countenance”; “he will never see it” which means “he, the True Supreme God, shall not at any time perceive, have vision, inspect or consider the acts and deeds of the wicked”. David wrote how the wicked person believes that God conceals His presence and that He will never perceive or consider their acts and deeds.

When we consider the words in this verse, we learn through David how the person who practices wickedness is greatly deceived. Because God does not “stop” their evil acts, and it appears that He does not care about their errors and wrongs, they believe within themselves that God ceases to care and is oblivious to them. They think God “conceals” Himself and will not observe their wicked acts. God is omniscient, and He knows every act, deed, thought and attitude of every person. The “wicked” do not hide, and no one “gets away” with pernicious acts especially against the unfortunate and weak. God sent His Son Jesus to die on the cross for the sins of every person, and because no one is perfect, everyone is in need of a “Savior”. In other words, we, nor anyone else, cannot hide our wickedness from the LORD, and when we humble ourselves before Jesus, repent of our evil ways and yield to Him, He will forgive our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. The wicked person who believes God does not see nor care is deceived, and the fact that God lets us know through David that this is true should cause us to give Him praise and honor for revealing this to us before we come before Him in unconcealed judgment.

Next time David says, Arise, O LORD, O God, lift up your hand, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
