In the book of Proverbs Solomon said, “He that delicately brings up his servant from a child shall have him become his son at the length”, and in chapter twenty-nine and verse twenty-two of Proverbs Solomon said, “an angry man stirs up strife” where we read,
An angry man stirs up strife,
and a furious man abounds in transgression.
The verse begins, “An angry man stirs up strife, ...” Solomon began with the words, “an angry man” or “a person whether male or female who has wrath that wrinkles the nostrils, nose and face” “stirs up strife” which means “causes, excites and engages in contention, quarreling and discord”. Solomon said the person who is filled with wrath that wrinkles their face engages in contention and discord.
The verse goes on to say, “... and a furious man abounds in transgression.” Solomon continues with the words, “and a furious man” or “and a person whether male or female who is heated, enraged and filled with indignation and anger” “abounds in transgression” which means “has an abundance, more numerous and greater amount of revolt, rebellion and sin”. Solomon said the person who is filled with indignation has an abundant amount of rebellion and sin within them.
When we meditate upon the words in this verse, we learn through Solomon how “anger and fury” cause people to engage in contention which reveals an abundance of sin in their lives. God came to save people with these sinful way, and He sent His Son Jesus into the world to die on the cross to pay for the sins of all mankind. When we humble ourselves, repent of our sins and yield to Him, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and keep us from “anger and fury” that causes discord and violations against the law of God.
Next time Solomon says, “a man's pride shall bring him low”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
