In the book of Proverbs Solomon said, “if a wise man contends with a foolish man, whether he rage or laugh, there is no rest”, and in chapter twenty-nine and verse ten of Proverbs Solomon said, “the bloodthirsty hate the upright” where we read,
The bloodthirsty hate the upright:
but the just seek his soul.
The verse begins, “The bloodthirsty hate the upright:” Solomon began with the words, “the bloodthirsty” or “the people who love bloodshed” “hate the upright” which means “are odious and as enemies and foes to people who are perfect, complete, morally innocent, blameless and ethically pure”. Solomon said people who love bloodshed are odious to those who are morally innocent and ethically pure.
The verse goes on to say, “but the just seek his soul.” Solomon continued with the words, “but the just” or “however, nonetheless, notwithstanding and moreover people who are straightforward, righteous and correct” “seek his soul” which means “desire, exact and search out the upright person's, heart, mind, will, desires, living beings, conscience and seat of emotions and passions”. Solomon said the person who is righteous and correct desires to help the heart, mind and will of the morally innocent and blameless.
When we meditate upon the words in this verse, we learn through Solomon how people who love bloodshed are odious to those who are morally innocent and blameless while people who are straightforward and righteous desire to help them. God wants us to be righteous and blameless, and this is only possible through His Son Jesus Christ who died on the cross for the sins of all mankind. When we yield to Him as our “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and help us be aware of the innocent and passionate about giving them aid whenever we have opportunity.
Next time Solomon says, “a fool utters all his mind”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
