The Transgression of an Evil Man - Proverbs 29:6

In the book of Proverbs Solomon said, “A man that flatters his neighbor spreads a net for his feet”, and in chapter twenty-nine and verse six of Proverbs Solomon said, “in the transgression of an evil man there is a snare” where we read,

In the transgression of an evil man there is a snare:

but the righteous does sing and rejoice.

The verse begins, In the transgression of an evil man there is a snare: Solomon began with the words, “in the transgression” or “within the rebellion, revolt and sin” “of an evil man” which means “belonging to a person whether male or female who is bad, disagreeable, unpleasant and displeasing” “there is a snare” or “there exists a gin, noose or trap”. Solomon said within the sin belonging to a wicked person exists a lure, bait and trap.

The verse goes on to say, “but the righteous does sing and rejoice. Solomon continued with the words, “but the righteous” or “however, nonetheless, notwithstanding and moreover people who are right, just, lawful and correct” “does sing” which means “cries out and makes a ringing cry of exultation, joy and praise” “and rejoice” or “and be glad, exult, gleeful and cheered up with joy”. Solomon said the people who are right and just make ringing sounds of merriment and cheer.

When we consider the words in this verse, we learn through Solomon that within the sin of wicked people there exists a trap, however, people who are right and just make joyful music with their voices and are cheerful. God alone is able to remove our sins, and He made access for this through His Son Jesus who died on the cross for the sins of all mankind. When we yield our lives to Him, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and teach us to avoid “transgression”and to use our voices to “sing songs” of praise, honor and worship unto Him.

Next time Solomon says, “the righteous considers the cause of the poor”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
