In the book of Proverbs Solomon said, “Whoso is partner with a thief hates his own soul: he hears cursing, and bewrays it not”, and in chapter twenty-nine and verse twenty-five of Proverbs Solomon said, “the fear of man brings a snare”where we read,
The fear of man brings a snare:
but whoso puts his trust in the LORD shall be safe.
The verse begins, “The fear of man brings a snare:” Solomon began with the words, “the fear of man” or “anxiety, quaking and exceeding trembling toward a person whether male or female” “brings a snare” which means “gives, puts, bestows and consecrates a gin, hook or trap”. Solomon said anxiety toward a person bestows and becomes a trap.
The verse continues, “but whoso puts his trust in the LORD shall be safe.” Solomon added the words, “but whoso put his trust” or “however, notwithstanding and moreover the person whether male or female who places their confidence and security” “in the LORD” which means “within Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God” “shall be safe” or “will exist as set on high, exalted, strong and secure”. Solomon said whatever person places their confidence and security within Jehovah God will be exalted, set on high and secure.
When we meditate upon the words in this verse, we learn through Solomon how we are not to be anxious or fearful of any person because it only leads to a trap, and we are to place our confidence within Jehovah God which will exalt us and make us secure. God desires to have a personal intimate relationship with us through His Son Jesus who was crucified on the cross for the sins of all mankind. When we put our faith and trust in Him, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and teach us the value of putting our confidence in Him and not allowing the “fear of man” to lead us into a “snare”.
Next time Solomon says, “many seek the ruler's favor”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
