In Psalms chapter thirty seven David said, “Depart from evil, and do good; and dwell for evermore”, and in chapter thirty seven and verse twenty-eight of Psalms David said, “the LORD loves judgment” where we read,
For the LORD loves judgment, and forsakes not his saints;
they are preserved for ever: but the seed of the wicked shall be cut off.
The verse begins, “For the LORD loves judgment, and forsakes not his saints;” David began with the words, “For the LORD” or “because, since and on account that Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God” “loves judgment” which means “has great affection for justice, procedure, litigation and execution of right and rectitude”, “and forsakes not his saints” or “and does not leave, abandon, neglect and apostatize his, Jehovah God's, faithful, godly, holy and pious ones”. David said Jehovah God has great affection for justice, litigation and execution of right, and He never abandons His holy and godly ones.
The verse continues, “they are preserved for ever: but the seed of the wicked shall be cut off.” David added the words, “they are preserved” or “they, the saints of Jehovah God, exist as guarded, observed, watched and protected” “for ever” which means “to long duration, antiquity, futurity, everlasting, evermore and perpetually”: “but the seed” or “however, nonetheless, notwithstanding and moreover the offspring, progeny and children” “of the wicked” which means “belonging to the criminal, guilty of sin and hostile to God and others” “shall be cut off” or “will be eliminated, hewn down and destroyed”. David said Jehovah God's “saints” would be guarded and protected unto perpetually, however, the offspring of people who commit “wickedness and evil” were certain to be hewn down and destroyed.
When we consider the words in this verse, we learn from David how Jehovah God is greatly affectionate toward justice, and He does not abandon His “godly” ones. He will watch over and protect them unto perpetuity, but people who are “wicked” and “evil” will be eliminated and destroyed. God desires to have a personal relationship with every person through His Son Jesus who came to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind. When we surrender to Jesus, He will forgive our sins and grant us everlasting life. However, should we refuse and reject Him as our “Savior and Lord”, we will be among the “seed of the wicked” that will be eliminated and destroyed. (See Matthew 8:12; 22:23; 25:30)
Next time David says, “the righteous shall inherit the land”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
