A Vesture Dipped in Blood – The Word of God Revelation 19:13

An “angel” from heaven showed John the apostle many things which will occur in the tribulation time on the earth, and John wrote about commercial Babylon's destruction and the people who were affected by it. John continued to write, “And after these things I heard a great voice of much people in heaven, saying, Alleluia; Salvation, and glory, and honor, and power, unto the Lord our God: For true and righteous are his judgments: for he has judged the great whore, which did corrupt the earth with her fornication, and has avenged the blood of his servants at her hand. And again they said, Alleluia. And her smoke rose up for ever and ever .And the four and twenty elders and the four beasts fell down and worshiped God that sat on the throne, saying, Amen; Alleluia. And a voice came out of the throne, saying, Praise our God, all you his servants, and you that fear him, both small and great. And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigns. Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honor to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife has made herself ready. And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints. And he says unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he said unto me, These are the true sayings of God. And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See you do it not: I am your fellow-servant, and of your brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy. And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he does judge and make war. His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.”, and in Revelation chapter nineteen and verse thirteen John saw “a vesture dipped in blood” where we read:

And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.

The verse reads, And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: John began with the words, “and he was clothed” which means “and the One upon the white horse was arrayed and dressed” “with a vesture” or “with an upper garment such as a cloak, mantle or tunic” “dipped” which means “immersed as if to dye” “in blood” which means “in bloodshed by violence, slaying and murder”. John saw this One upon the “white horse” wearing an “upper garment or cloak” that was “dyed” with “blood”.

The verse goes on to say, “and his name is called The Word of God. John continued with the words, “and his name” which means “and the One upon the white horse's nomenclature for everything which the name covers, everything the thought or feeling of which is aroused in the mind by mentioning, hearing and remembering” “is called” or “is saluted and bid forth by” “The Word” which means “the personal wisdom and power in union with God” “of God” or “belonging to the Godhead bodily and trinity which is comprised of God the Father, Christ the Son and the Holy Spirit”. John saw how this One upon the “white horse” was identified as God's “Word” otherwise known as Jesus.

When we meditate upon John's words in this verse, we see just how majestic and wonderful this One upon the “white horse” actually is. Jesus shed His “blood” and sacrificed His life as He was beaten, spat upon, mocked and ridiculed for the sins of all mankind. His “vesture dipped in blood” came from His beatings and subsequent death upon the cross so that every person might have a relationship with God. In other words, this One upon the “white horse” came to give His life for us, and now He rules and reigns in power from on High. He is “the Word of God”, and those who yield their lives and accept His offer of “salvation” shall join Him in heaven some day, but woe be to those who oppose this “Mighty Warrior” of God.

Next time John saw how, “the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
