The Voice of a Mighty Multitude Revelation 19:6

An “angel” from heaven showed John the apostle many things which will occur in the tribulation time on the earth, and John wrote about commercial Babylon's destruction and the people who were affected by it. John wrote, “And after these things I heard a great voice of much people in heaven, saying, Alleluia; Salvation, and glory, and honor, and power, unto the Lord our God: For true and righteous are his judgments: for he has judged the great whore, which did corrupt the earth with her fornication, and has avenged the blood of his servants at her hand. And again they said, Alleluia. And her smoke rose up for ever and ever .And the four and twenty elders and the four beasts fell down and worshiped God that sat on the throne, saying, Amen; Alleluia. And a voice came out of the throne, saying, Praise our God, all you his servants, and you that fear him, both small and great”, and in Revelation chapter nineteen and verse six John hears, “the voice of a great multitude” where we read:

And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigns.

The verse reads, And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, ... John began with the words, “and I heard” which means “and John was given the faculty for hearing, discovering, discerning and perceiving” “as it were” or “like, similar to and even as” “the voice” which means “the tone or sound of uttered words” “of a great multitude” or “pertaining to a huge, massive and large group” “of many waters” which means “of a large amount of rushing waters like fountains, pools or a deluge”. John listened as a huge crowd sounded as loud as mighty rushing “waters”.

The verse continues, “... and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigns. John added the words, “and as the voice” which means “and like, even as or similar to the tone and sound of uttered words” “of mighty thunderings” or “strong, violent, forcible, firm and sure thunders as from the sky”, “saying” which means “uttering, proclaiming and declaring”, “Alleluia” or “praise the Lord, Hallelujah”: “for” which means “because, since and on account of” “the Lord” or “he to whom a person or thing belongs, about which he has power of deciding; master and the title given to God the Messiah” “God” which refers to “the Godhead bodily and trinity which is comprised of God the Father, Christ the Son and the Holy Spirit” “omnipotent” or “one who holds sway over all things, ruler of all and almighty” “reigns” which means “exercises kingly power, governs and rules”. John also likened the “voice” to loud “thunder” proclaiming “Praise the Lord” because Almighty God “rules”.

When we consider John's words in this verse, we see how this massive crowd joined in the praise of God. Their “voices” were so loud that John likened them to “mighty rushing waters” and “powerful thunder”, and their proclamation was to “Praise the Lord”! God desires for everyone to join in with this mighty mass to give Him glory and honor, and having a relationship with Him through His Son Jesus provides access to do so. Those who receive Jesus are granted the opportunity to join in the praise of the thunderous masses and to proclaim even now, “Praise the Lord”!

Next time John heard, “let us be glad and rejoice, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
