Ten Kings Fulfill God's Will Revelation 17:17

After showing John the apostle the “great whore” who was sitting upon a “scarlet colored beast” and was “arrayed in purple and scarlet color, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls”, the angel asked him, “Why did you marvel? I will tell you the mystery of the woman, and of the beast that carries her, which has the seven heads and ten horns. The beast that you saw was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is. And here is the mind which has wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sits. And there are seven kings: five are fallen, and one is, and the other is not yet come; and when he comes, he must continue a short space. And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goes into perdition. And the ten horns which you saw are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast. These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast. These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful. And he said unto me, The waters which you saw, where the whore sits, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues. And the ten horns which you saw upon the beast, these shall hate the whore, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire.” In chapter seventeen and verse seventeen of Revelation the angel tells John how God has “put in” the “ten kings'” “hearts to fulfill his will” where we read:

For God has put in their hearts to fulfill his will, and to agree,
and give their kingdom unto the beast, until the words of God shall be fulfilled.

The verse reads, For God has put in their hearts to fulfill his will, and to agree, ... John began with the word, “for” which means “because, since, on account of and consequently” “God” or “the Godhead bodily and trinity which is comprised of God the Father, Christ the Son and the Holy Spirit” “has put” which means “has bestowed, granted, supplied and furnished” “in their hearts” or “within the ten kings' souls so far as they are affected and stirred in a bad way or good or of the souls as the seat of the sensibilities, affections, emotions, desires, appetites and passions” “to fulfill” which means “to make ready, produce, prepare and cause” “his will” or “God's knowledge, mind, reason, resolve and purpose”, “and to agree” which means “and to align themselves with God's knowledge, mind, reason, resolve and purpose”. John was told how God “supplied and furnished” the “ten kings” with the purpose and resolve to carry out His “desires and purposes”.

The verse goes on to say, “... and give their kingdom unto the beast, until the words of God shall be fulfilled. John continued with the words, “and give” which means “and grant, bestow, furnish and supply” “their kingdom” or “the ten kings' power, dominion, rule and royal power” “unto the beast” which refers to “to the ferocious living being which is the antichrist”, “until” or “as far as, while and till” “the words” which means “that which has been uttered by a living voice, spoken, proclaimed and declared” “of God” or “pertaining to the Godhead bodily and trinity which is comprised of God the Father, Christ the Son and the Holy Spirit” “shall be fulfilled”which means “will be brought to a close, performed, executed and completed”. The “ten kings” will relinquish their “royal powers” over to the antichrist until the time when God's “words” are completed.

When we think through John's words in this verse, we get an idea of the power of this one man, the antichrist, as he rules and reigns upon the earth. All the ruling “kings” shall give their power over to him, and he shall maintain that power until God's words and will are accomplished. God has given us foreknowledge of these things because He exists outside of time and can see them as though they already exist. Those who are wise shall take note of the power given to the antichrist and yield themselves to God in a personal relationship through His Son Jesus Christ, but woe be to those who ignore and reject His offer and will know world domination like they have never seen before.

Next time the angel tells John, “the woman which you saw is that great city”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
