Ten Kings in One Hour Revelation 17:12

After showing John the apostle the “great whore” who was sitting upon a “scarlet colored beast” and was “arrayed in purple and scarlet color, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls”, the angel asked him, “Why did you marvel? I will tell you the mystery of the woman, and of the beast that carries her, which has the seven heads and ten horns. The beast that you saw was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is. And here is the mind which has wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sits. And there are seven kings: five are fallen, and one is, and the other is not yet come; and when he comes, he must continue a short space. And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goeth into perdition.” In chapter seventeen and verse eleven of Revelation the angel tells John, “the ten horns which you saw are ten kings” where we read:

And the ten horns which you saw are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet;
but receive power as kings one hour with the beast.

The verse reads, “And the ten horns which you saw are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet;” John began with the words, “and the ten horns” which means “the ten projecting extremities like a points or apexes” “which you saw” or “that John perceived, noticed, discerned and discovered” “are ten kings” which means “are ten rulers, leaders, commanders and princes”, “which have received” or “who have claimed, procured, seized and laid hold of” “no kingdom” which mean “not one royal power, dominion or rule” “as yet” or “at this time or moment”. John was told how the “ten horns” upon the “woman” represented “ten kings or rulers”, and none of them had “obtained” their “kingdoms” as that time.

The verse goes on to say, “but receive power as kings one hour with the beast. John continued with the word, “but” which means “nevertheless, notwithstanding and with exception” “receive power” or “claim, procure, seize and lay hold of authority, influence, right and privilege” “as kings” which means “as rulers, leaders, commanders and princes” “one hour” or “at one certain definite time, moment or season fixed by natural law” “with the beast” which refers to “alongside the ferocious being which is the antichrist”. The “ten kings” shall obtain their “power and authority” in “one hour” when the antichrist begins his rule.

When we consider John's words in this verse, we know exactly what the “ten horns” upon the “woman” represent. They are “ten kings” who do not have their “kingdoms” at that point, but shall be given them by the antichrist within “one hour's” time. This progression of “power” is prophesied in advance of the events that will occur on the earth because God knows all of them in advance. This single event will alter the world as people know it, and to avoid having to endure all these changes, a person only needs to receive Jesus Christ as his or her personal “Savior and Lord”. God wants a relationship with every person through His Son Jesus, and when they refuse His offer they should beware because the antichrist comes and he will give “power” to “ten kings” who shall rule the world.

Next time John shares how these “ten kings” “have one mind” are, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
