The Marriage Supper of the Lamb Revelation 19:7

An “angel” from heaven showed John the apostle many things which will occur in the tribulation time on the earth, and John wrote about commercial Babylon's destruction and the people who were affected by it. John wrote, “And after these things I heard a great voice of much people in heaven, saying, Alleluia; Salvation, and glory, and honor, and power, unto the Lord our God: For true and righteous are his judgments: for he has judged the great whore, which did corrupt the earth with her fornication, and has avenged the blood of his servants at her hand. And again they said, Alleluia. And her smoke rose up for ever and ever .And the four and twenty elders and the four beasts fell down and worshiped God that sat on the throne, saying, Amen; Alleluia. And a voice came out of the throne, saying, Praise our God, all you his servants, and you that fear him, both small and great. And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigns.”, and in chapter nineteen and verse seven John hears the great multitude shout, “let us be glad and rejoice” where we read:

Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honor to him:
for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife has made herself ready.

The verse reads, Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honor to him: John began with the words, “let us be glad” or “allow and permit every person be well, thrive and rejoice exceedingly” “and rejoice” which means “exult, be exceeding glad and jump for joy”, “and give honor” or “and grant, bestow, furnish and supply splendor, brightness, magnificence, excellence and preeminence” “to him” which means “to God”. John heard the “large multitude” exhort everyone to “rejoice” and “bestow excellence” toward God.

The verse goes on to say, “for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife has made herself ready. John continued with the words, “for the marriage” which means “because, since and on account of the marriage festival, banquet and feast” “of the Lamb” or “pertaining to the little lamb which represents Jesus” “is come” which means “has arrived and appeared”, “and his wife” or “the Lamb's betrothed woman which represents the church” “has made herself ready” which means “has made preparations and provision for self” . The reason people were to “be glad and rejoice” was because the “bridegroom” or the “Lamb and Jesus” has arrived and the “bride or the church” has prepared for His arrival.

When we meditate upon John's words in this verse, we see how this is the celebration of the “marriage” of “the Lamb of God” and His “bride”, the church. The “church” has been prepared at this point, and the “Bridegroom Jesus” has come unto her. This is the beginning of what is known as “the marriage supper of the Lamb”, and those who have a relationship with God through His Son Jesus will be a part of this massive celebration and feast. The “Bridegroom” Jesus will come for His “bride”, the church”, and there shall be a “banquet, festival and feast” like no one has ever known before. May everyone reading these words receive Jesus as their personal “Savior and Lord” and become a part of the “bride” of Christ at the “marriage supper of the Lamb”.

Next time John saw how the Lamb's wife, “was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
