Babylon is Fallen Revelation 18:2

An angel showed John the apostle the “great whore” who was sitting upon a “scarlet colored beast” and was “arrayed in purple and scarlet color, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls” and the “great city” where he wrote, “And the woman which you saw is that great city, which reigns over the kings of the earth.” John continued, “And after these things I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory, and in chapter eighteen and verse two of Revelation the angel, “cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen” where we read:

And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.

The verse reads, And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, ... John began with the words, “and he cried” which means “and the angel from heaven spoke with a loud voice, vociferated and exclaimed” “mightily” or “forcefully and with strength and ability” “with a strong voice” which means “with a great, massive and abundant sound and tongue of uttered words”, “saying” which means “uttering, proclaiming and declaring” “Babylon” which means “confusion” and was “a very large and famous city, the residence of the Babylonian kings and situated on both banks of the Euphrates” “the great” or “massive and abundant” “is fallen” which means “is descended from a higher place to a lower, thrust down and come under judgment and condemnation”, “is fallen” or “is descended from a higher place to a lower, thrust down and come under judgment and condemnation”. The “angel” from heaven declared in a “loud and powerful voice” that “Babylon” had “descended” and “descended” because of the traumatic “judgment and condemnation” which fell upon it.

The verse continues, “...and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird. John continued with the words, “and is become” which means “has come into existence, received and happened as” “the habitation” or “the abode and dwelling place” “of devils” which refers to “of demons or evil spirits”, “and the hold” or “the watch, guard, keeping place and prison” “of every foul spirit” which refers to “pertaining to each, the whole, all and everyone of the unclean, morally lewd and impure simple essences which are devoid of all or at least all grosser matter, and possessed of the power of knowing, desiring, deciding and acting”, “and a cage” or “a watch, guard, sentinel and prison” “of every unclean” which means “pertaining to each, the whole, all and everyone of the not clean, impure and morally lewd” “and hateful bird” or “detested fowl”. John was told that “Babylon” will “become” the “dwelling place” for “demons and those who are morally lewd and detestable”.

When we think through John's words in this verse, we see how “Babylon” which means “confusion” becomes the center of all that is “demonic” and “unclean”. This massive “economical” and “financial” center of the world will attract people from every nation, and the spiritual realm where “demons” and “evil spirits” reside shall preside over all of the activities and people within it. God knows these things in advance, and though this place may seem as the “place to be” during the time of the tribulation, God has a plan for it's destruction. God desires that people put their “trust and faith” in Him rather than the “world systems” like “Babylon”. Jesus Christ came to the earth, died for everyone's sins and rose again the third day after to provide a way to have a relationship with God. Those who receive Jesus as their personal “Savior and Lord” shall not be dependent upon systems such as “Babylon” because they will place their “faith” in God's system of which there is no better.

Next time we see the angel proclaim, for all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
