Oh Fearful Squirrel

Why art thou fearful little squirrel
with eyes both opened wide
thy scurried steps and hasty ways
thy vain attempt to hide

To feed upon the morsels sweet
thy path hath led thee here
to scamper 'neath the canopy
above thy anxious fear

Thy driven friends lie there upon
the asphalt flats below
there be the frights the warning signs
Thine instincts tell thee so

And be afright' from thus reports
the outward voices chant
for be the same thy fearful fate
of those who'd live but can't

Put aside thy willing trust
follow thus their way
forsake Creator's guiding hand
take heed their dreadful sway

But thou ole wise one look within
and hear the ageless voice
who put within thee mortal care
adherence be thy choice
