Paul
the apostle told the church members in Corinth, “Awake
to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of
God:”.
Paul added, “I speak this to your
shame”,
and in
chapter fifteen and verse thirty-five of First Corinthians, Paul
asked the church members in Corinth, “some
man will say, how are the dead raised up”,
where we read:
But
some man
will say, How are the dead raised up? and with what body do they
come?
The
verse begins, “But
some man
will say, How are the dead raised up? ”
Paul began
with the word, “but” which
is a disassociation conjunction that means what is about to be
written takes precedence over what was just stated“some”
which means “a certain one” “man
will say”
or “person will utter or speak”, “How”
or “in what way” “are the dead”
which refers to “those who have breathed their last, are lifeless,
deceased, departed, destitute, without life and inanimate” “raised
up” which
means “aroused, caused to rise from the sleep of death”. Paul
acknowledged how there might be someone who would ask “in what
way” are those who have “died”
“resurrected”.
The
verse goes on to say, “and
with what body do they come?” Paul
continued with the words, “and with
what body” which
means “and what sort or nature of corpse ” “do
they come”
which means “are the people reestablished, become known and
followed”. Paul knew people would wonder what kind of “body”
those who were resurrected would possess.
When we consider these
words from Paul, we realize “some people” would question “how”
those who have “died” would be resurrected, but also what
kind of “body” they would obtain when they did. Jesus
Christ has all these answers, and He gave a glimpse of the answers
with His own resurrection. Jesus desires to have all who will to be
saved, and He promised the “resurrection” of those who believe in
Him. He will “raise them up”, and He will give them “a
body” that He has already designed.
Next
time Paul shares with
the church members they way some people ask,
“Thou
fool, that which you sow is not quickened, except it die:”,
so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
