Paul
the apostle told the church members in Corinth, “There
are
also celestial bodies, and bodies terrestrial: but the glory of the
celestial is
one, and the glory
of the terrestrial is
another”,
and
in
chapter fifteen and verse forty-one of First Corinthians, Paul
referred to, “the
glory of the sun, moon and stars”,
where
we read:
The
verse begins, “There
is
one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon,...”
Paul
began with the words, “There
is one” or
“there exists a certain” “glory”
which means “splendor and brightness” “of
the sun”
or “the light of the day” “and
another”
which means “an other nature, form, class or kind” “glory”
or “splendor and brightness” “of
the moon”
which refers to “the reflected light of the night”. Paul
recognized the differences between the “brightness” of the
“sun” and
the “splendor” of the “moon”.
The
verse continues, “
...and another glory of the stars: for one
star differs from another
star in glory.”
Paul
added the words, “and
another” which
means “an other nature form, class or kind” “glory”
or “splendor and brightness” “of
the stars”
which refers to “the stars strewn over the sky”, “for”
or “even as, seeing then, no doubt, verily and therefore” “one
star”
which means “a single or certain star” “differs
from”
or “is distinguished from, excels or surpasses” “one
another”
which means “a certain other nature, form class or kind” “in
glory”
or “in splendor and brightness”. Paul added the manner in which
the “stars”
differ from one another in “brightness and splendor”.
When
we consider these words from Paul, we see how he uses the
“differences” between the “brightness” of the “celestial”
or “heavenly” bodies to demonstrate how there will be differences
in the believer in Christ's “heavenly body”. God designed
creation as He desired, and He provided differences of “splendor”
to the “sun,
moon and stars”.
God shall supply the same in the “resurrection” of the bodies of
those who have received His Son Jesus as their personal “Savior and
Lord”. There is an “earthly body”, and there shall be a
“heavenly body”. Let all who read these words know, understand
and receive His “eternal salvation” through His Son Jesus.
Next
time Paul shares with
the church members how,
“so
is the resurrection of the dead” which
is “sown
in corruption; it is raised in incorruption”,
so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
