Paul
the apostle declared to the church members in Corinth how the body of
a person who died is, “sown in
dishonor; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised
in power:”,
and in
chapter fifteen and verse forty-four of First Corinthians, Paul told
the church members how the “body”
is, “sown a natural body”
and
“raised a spiritual body”,
where we read:
The verse begins, “It
is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body.”
Paul began
with the words, “it is sown” or
“the body is scattered or planted” “a
natural”
which means “belonging to breath and the sensuous nature with its
subjection to appetite and passion” “body”
or “corpse”; “it is raised”
or “the body is aroused, risen and resurrected”
“a spiritual”
which means “belonging to a spirit or as a being higher than man
but inferior to God” “body” or
“corpse”. When the “body”
of a person is “buried”, the person experiences a new “spiritual”
body afterwards.
The
verse continues, “There
is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.”
Paul added
the words, “there is a natural”
which means
“there exists a breathing, sensuous and subject to appetite and
passion” “body”
or “corpse”, “and there is a
spiritual”
which means “belonging to a spirit or as a being higher than man
but inferior to God” “body”
or “corpse”.
When
we consider these words from Paul, we see how he acknowledges both
the “natural” and “spiritual body”. People are
given the “natural body” when they are born, and when they
“die”, they are promised the “spiritual body” which
God has prepared for them. Jesus Christ desires to give “everlasting
life” to all who believe in His sacrifice on the cross for their
sins, and if they do, they shall inherit a “spiritual body”
when they expire from this life.
Next
time Paul shares with
the church members how,
“the
first man Adam was made a living soul”,
so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
