Paul
the apostle told the church members in Corinth, “Be
not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.”,
and in
chapter fifteen and verse thirty-six of First Corinthians, Paul told
the church members in Corinth, what they “sow
is not quickened, except it die”,
where we read:
You
fool, that which you sow is not quickened, except it die:
The
verse begins, “You
fool, that which you sow is not quickened,...”
Paul began
with the word, “you fool” or
“person without reason, senseless, foolish, stupid and without
reflection or intelligence” “that
which you sow”
which means “the scattered seed” “is
not quickened”
or “does not produce life, make alive, germinating, growing or
springing up”. Paul desired for the “foolish” people among the
church members to consider a “seed” that is not made “alive”.
The
verse goes on to say, “... except it
die.”
Paul added
the word, “except” which
means “if not or unless” “it die”
which means “the seed suffers a natural death”. Paul declared
that a seed did not grow unless it first experienced “death”.
Paul's exception to the “seed” growing or being alive was that
the “sown seed” had to experience “death” first
When
we meditate upon these words from Paul, he declared how the people
who asked their questions of the “resurrection” and the “body”
would benefit from considering a “seed” that is “sown”
into the ground. Unless that seed “dies” and splits open, there
will be no plant that grows from it. “Death” is the step
necessary for the new life to appear, and since Jesus Christ desires
for all people to be “saved”, He sometimes allows the “death”
of His believers. However, there is the promise of a “resurrection”,
and the “body” that shall appear from that “sown seed”
shall supersede any other “body” the person has ever
experienced before.
Next
time Paul shares with the church members about “bare
grain” so
“it may chance of wheat”,
so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
