Paul the apostle told
the church members in Corinth how he was “therefore
thus minded” and
he asked, “did I use lightness?”.
He added, “the things that I purpose,
I purpose according to the flesh, that with me there should be yes
yes, and no no”.
In chapter one and verse eighteen of
Second Corinthians, Paul asked the church members, “did
I use lightness”,
where we read:
For all
the promises of God in him are
yes, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.
The verse begins, “For
all the promises of God in him are
yes, ...” Paul
began with the word, “for” which
means “even as, indeed, no doubt, seeing then, verily and
therefore” “all”
which refers to “each, every, the whole and everyone of”
“the promises” which
means “the announcements given of good
and blessings” “of God”
or “of the Godhead bodily and trinity which is comprised of God the
Father, Christ the Son and the Holy Spirit” “in
him” which refers to “Jesus”
“are yes” which
means “in the affirmative, verily, truly, assuredly and even so”.
God's “promises” are fulfilled “affirmatively” in and through
Jesus Christ.
The verse continues,
“...and in him
Amen, unto the glory of God by us.”
Paul added the words, “and in him” which
means “within God” “Amen”
which means “surely, truly and of a truth”, “unto
the glory” or “to the opinion, judgment,
view, estimate, splendor and brightness” “of
God” which refers to“the Godhead bodily
and trinity which is comprised of God the Father, Christ the Son and
the Holy Spirit” “by us”
or “through Paul and his companions”. Not only are God's
“promises” “yes”,
but they are also “surely and truly so” to His “splendor,
brightness, majesty and magnificence” through Jesus Christ His Son.
When we meditate upon
these words from Paul, we realize the veracity of God's “promises”.
They are “yes”, and they are “amen” in Christ
Jesus, and God receives the “glory” for their fulfillment.
When a person receives Jesus Christ as their “Savior and Lord”,
they are open to all the “promises” given to believers,
and as sure as God is the Creator of the Universe, these “promises”
shall be accomplished. May all who read these words understand the
significance of God's “promises” and know, what He has declared,
He shall complete.
Next
time Paul tells the
church members, “he
which establishes us with you in Christ, has anointed us”,
so read
ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
