Paul
the apostle instructed the church members in Corinth to, “watch
you, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong”,
and in
chapter sixteen and verse fourteen of First Corinthians, Paul exhorts
the church members to, “let all things be
done with charity”, where
we read:
Let
all your things be done with charity.
The
verse begins, “Let all your things
...” Paul
began with the words, “let all”
which means
“allow and permit each, every, the whole and everyone of” “your
things” or
“the church member's doings and happenings”. Paul addressed
everything in which the church members involved.
The verse goes on to
say, “... be done with charity.”
Paul
continued with the words, “be done”
which means
“happen, appear, be made and finished” “with
charity”
which is the Greek word “agapē”
which means “affection, good will, love, benevolence and unmerited
brotherly love”.
Paul exhorted the church members to do everything in a spirit of
“unmerited brotherly love”.
When
we meditate upon these words from Paul, we discover the motive the
church members were to have when they conducted themselves among each
other and other people. They were to “love” in everything
they did, and as they demonstrated their Christian ways, people would
be attracted to the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Next
time
Paul, “beseeches”
the
church members again,
so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
