John the apostle shared when Jesus, “ was in Jerusalem at the passover, in the feast day, many believed in his name, when they saw the miracles which he did”, and in chapter two and verse twenty-four of his book, John shared how, “Jesus did not commit himself unto them” where we read:
But Jesus did not commit himself unto them, because he knew all men,
The verse reads, “But Jesus did not commit himself unto them, ...” John began with the words, “But Jesus” which means “however, nonetheless, notwithstanding and moreover Jesus whose name means Jehovah is Salvation and is the Son of God, the Savior of mankind and God incarnate” “did not commit himself unto them” which means “Jesus in no way was persuaded by, had confidence in nor thought to be true” the people who believed in Him”. John shared how “Jesus” put no “confidence” within the people who put their “faith and trust” in Him.
The verse goes on to say, “... because he knew all men.” John continued with the words, “because he knew” which means “since and on account that Jesus understood, perceived and had knowledge of” “all men” or “each, every, the whole and everyone of the people whether male or female”. John shared how Jesus “understood and perceived of” “every” person.
When we think through John's words in this verse, we discover that Jesus would not put His “confidence” in people even though they put their “faith and trust” in Him. Jesus “knew” every person, and He knows them today. His “trust” in not in people because He knows exactly what they are like. God sent His Son Jesus into the world to “save” people from their sinful states, and when they put their faith and trust in Him, they will be “saved”. Let all who read these words put their “faith and confidence” in Jesus who alone knows them completely and is worthy to be “trusted” and adored.
Next time John shares how Jesus, “needed not that any should testify of men”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
