Evil Men Understand Not Judgment - Proverbs 28:5

In the book of Proverbs Solomon said, “They that forsake the law praise the wicked: but such as keep the law contend with them”, and in chapter twenty-eight and verse five of Proverbs Solomon said, “evil men understand not judgment”where we read,

Evil men understand not judgment:

but they that seek the LORD understand all things.

The verse begins, Evil men understand not judgment: Solomon began with the words, “evil men” or “bad, disagreeable, malignant and unkind people both male and female” “understand not judgment” which means “do not discern, perceive, give heed to or have insight into justice, ordinance, procedure and litigation”. Solomon said people who are bad and disagreeable do not discern or give heed to justice and litigation.

The verse goes on to say, “but they that seek the LORD understand all things. Solomon continued with the words, but they that seek the LORD” or “however, nonetheless, notwithstanding and moreover people whether male or female who desire, exact, request and search for Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God”“understand all things” which means “discern, perceive, give heed to or have insight each, every, the whole and everyone of the acts, deeds, justice and litigation”. Solomon said the people who search for Jehovah God will have perception and insight into everything.

When we think through the words in this verse, we learn through Solomon that there is a great benefit to desiring a personal relationship with Jehovah God. God wants us to “seek” Him and His “righteousness” (See Matthew 6:33), and when we come to Him through His Son Jesus who died on the cross for the sins of all mankind, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and teach us to “understand justice and litigation” as we rely upon Him in “everything” we encounter.

Next time Solomon says, “better is the poor that walks in his uprightness”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
