Leaving Judaea to Galilee - John 4:3

John the apostle wrote, “When therefore the Lord knew how the Pharisees had heard that Jesus made and baptized more disciples than John, (Though Jesus himself baptized not, but his disciples,)”, and in chapter four and verse three of his book, John shared how Jesus, “left Judaea, and departed again into Galilee” where we read:

He left Judaea, and departed again into Galilee.

The verse reads, “He left Judaea, John began with the word, “He” which refers to “Jesus” “left Judaea” or “departed and separated Himself from the region of Judaea which means he shall be praised and was in a narrower sense, to the southern portion of Palestine lying on this side of the Jordan and the Dead Sea, to distinguish it from Samaria, Galilee, Peraea and Idumaea”. John shared how “Jesus” departed from the area of “Judaea” to go to the next area.

The verse goes on to say, “... and departed again into Galilee.”. John continued with the words, “and departed again” which means “and went away another time” “into Galilee” or “into the region known as Galilee which means circuit and was the name of a region of northern Palestine, bounded on the north by Syria, on the west by Sidon, Tyre, Ptolemais and their territories and the promontory of Carmel, on the south by Samaria and on the east by the Jordan”. John shared how Jesus left the area of “Judaea” to travel to the region of “Galilee”.

When we meditate upon John's words in this verse, we learn how Jesus was on the move again as He returned to the area of “Galilee”. Jesus desired to share the “good news” of His Father God's Kingdom to as many people as possible, and because He continually moved, He was able to reach many. God wants people everywhere to be in a personal relationship with Him through His Son Jesus, and He gives access to every person who will seek Him. Let all who read these words know Jesus will come into the hearts of everyone who will submit their lives to Him.

Next time John shares how Jesus needed to, “go through Samaria”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
