The Father Loves the Son - John 3:35

John the apostle wrote how John the Baptist declared, “He that comes from above is above all: he that is of the earth is earthly, and speaks of the earth: he that comes from heaven is above all. And what he has seen and heard, that he testifies; and no man receives his testimony. He that has received his testimony has set to his seal that God is true. For he whom God has sent speaks the words of God: for God gives not the Spirit by measure unto him, and in chapter three and verse thirty-five of his book, John shared how John the Baptist said concerning Jesus, “The Father loves the Son” where we read:

The Father loves the Son, and has given all things into his hand.

The verse reads, “The Father loves the Son, ... John began with the words, “the Father” which means “the Originator, Transmitter and Progenitor of everything who is God” “loves the Son” or “is well-pleased with, contented with and fondly loves His only Son, Jesus”. John shared how John the Baptist declared the “love” God the “Father” has for His “Son” Jesus.

The verse goes on to say, “... and has given all things into his hand.”. John continued with the words, “and has given all things” which means “and has granted, bestowed, delivered, extended, committed and entrusted each, every, the whole and everything” “into his hand” or “into His Son Jesus' power, control and determination”. John shared how John the Baptist said “God the Father” has “delivered” to Jesus His Son the “control and determination” for everything.

When we consider John's words in this verse, we learn not only about “God the Father's love” for His “Son Jesus”, but also that Jesus was given “power and determination” over everything that exists. Jesus was fully God and fully man while He was on the earth, and He employed His attributes according to His own “will” or “determination” as to when to use them. He came to demonstrate the love God has for all mankind, and through Jesus' death on the cross, every person has an opportunity to receive Him as their “Savior and Lord”. “God the Father” through Jesus “His Son” showed the world how much He loves them and is willing to forgive their sins and grant everlasting life to all who believe and trust in Him.

Next time John shares how John the Baptist says concerning Jesus, “he that believes on the Son has everlasting life”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
