Mark wrote about Jesus, “in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed. And Simon and they that were with him followed after him”, and in chapter one and verse thirty-seven of his book, Mark wrote, “all men seek for you” Jesus where we read:
And when they had found him, they said unto him, All men seek for you.
The verse reads, “And when they had found him, they said unto him, ...” Mark began with the words, “and when” which means “and at the time and moment” “they had found him” or “Simon and the other disciples came upon, met and discovered where Jesus was”, “they said unto him” which means “Simon and the other disciples uttered, declared and proclaimed to Jesus”. Mark shared how “Simon and the other disciples” discovered where Jesus was and made the following statement to Him.
The verse goes on to say, “... All men seek for you.” Mark continued with the words, “all men” which means “each, every, the whole and everyone who is a human being whether male or female” “seek for you” which means “are looking for, require, demand and crave for Jesus”. Mark shared how “Simon and the other disciples” told Jesus everybody was “looking for” Him.
When we meditate upon Mark's words in this verse, we notice how “Simon and the other disciples” discovered where Jesus was praying, and they desired for Him to know how “everyone” was “seeking for” Him. Jesus' fame grew immensely, and those who saw and heard Him wanted access to Him. Even so, Jesus was not altered by their desire above His time to be alone with the Heavenly Father. God wants people to “search for” His Son Jesus, and when they do, they respond best by yielding their lives to Him as their personal “Savior and Lord”.
Next time Mark shares how Jesus says, “let us go into the next towns, that I may preach there also”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
