Shown By Many Infallible Proofs - Acts 1:3

Luke the physician wrote, “The former treatise have I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach. Until the day in which he was taken up, after that he through the Holy Ghost had given commandments unto the apostles whom he had chosen”, and in chapter one and verse three of the book of Acts Luke wrote how Jesus, “showed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days” where we read:

To whom also he showed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God:

The verse begins, “To whom also he showed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, ...” Luke began with the words, “to whom also he showed himself alive” which means “to His disciples even so and indeed he, Jesus, revealed and exposed His own self to be living, breathing, active and blessed” “after his passion” or “behind and following his, Jesus', suffering, vexing and painful impression or sensation” “by many infallible proofs” which means “through and by means of a lot, numerous and abundant indubitable evidences, tokens and criterion of certainty”. Luke shared how Jesus revealed Himself to His “apostles” after He suffered death upon the cross and was resurrected through an abundant supply of “evidences and certain criterion”.

The verse goes on to say, “... being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God:” John continued with the words, “being seen of them forty days” or “allowing Himself to be looked at, beheld and observed by His disciples for forty days”, “and speaking of the things” which means “and making utterances, declarations and proclamations of events and deeds” “pertaining to the kingdom of God” or “concerning, about, on account and near to the Godhead bodily and trinity's royal power, rule and reign”. Luke shared how Jesus allowed Himself to be “revealed” to His disciples for “forty days” after He was raised from the dead, and He spoke to His disciples during that time about the “deeds and acts” of God's royal power and reign.

When we consider Luke's words in this verse, we how Jesus revealed Himself to His disciples for “forty days” after He was resurrected, and during that time He spoke to them about the “acts, duties and deeds” which belonged to His Father God's Kingdom. The “disciples” of Jesus were to go throughout the world and share His “good news”, the gospel”, with people everywhere. God loves people, and He sent His Son Jesus to the world to die for their sins so they might have a personal relationship with Him. Jesus was raised from the dead three days later to conquer death, which was the result of sin. so people might have eternal life with God. Those who think through this intentional act of Jesus to share His “gospel” through His disciples have been given the opportunity to yield their lives to Him as their personal “Savior and Lord”.

Next time Luke shares how Jesus, “being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
