Causing the East Wind to Blow - Psalms 78:26

In Psalms chapter seventy-eight Asaph shared when Jehovah God sent the people of Israel through the wilderness, “man did eat angels' food: he sent them meat to the full”, and in chapter seventy-eight and verse twenty-six of Psalms Asaph shared how, “He caused an east wind to blow in the heaven” where we read,

He caused an east wind to blow in the heaven: and by his power he brought in the south wind.

The verse begins, He caused an east wind to blow in the heaven: Asaph began with the words, “He caused an east wind” or “He, pulled out, set forward, fashioned and formed an easterly breeze” “to blow in the heaven” which means “to set forward within the sky, atmosphere, universe or place where God dwells”. Asaph said Jehovah God made an easterly breeze to proceed from the sky.

The verse goes on to say,and by his power he brought in the south wind. Asaph continued with the words, “and by his power” or “and through the means of his, Jehovah God's, might, strength and ability” “he brought in” which means “he, Jehovah God, lead, guided and drove” “the south wind” or “the breeze from a southern direction”. Asaph referred to the way Jehovah God used His might and strength to lead and guide the southern breeze for His purposes.

When we consider the words in this verse, we learn through Asaph how Jehovah God took control of the eastern and southern breezes to accomplish His will for the people of Israel in the wilderness. God created the world, and His desire is to have a personal relationship with us through His Son Jesus who came into the world to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind. When we yield ourselves to Him, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and employ the breezes of the skies to accomplish His purposes for us.

Next time Asaph shares how, “He rained flesh also upon them as dust”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
