Room Prepared - Psalms 80:9

In Psalms chapter eighty Asaph said to Jehovah God, “You have brought a vine out of Egypt: you have cast out the heathen, and planted it”, and in chapter eighty and verse nine of Psalms Asaph said to Jehovah God, “you prepared room before it”, where we read,

You prepared room before it, and did cause it to take deep root, and it filled the land.

The verse begins, You prepared room before it, and did cause it to take deep root, ... Asaph began with the words, “you prepared room” or “you, Jehovah God cleared the ground” “before it” which means “in front and within the presence of it, the land for the people of Israel”, “and did cause it” or “and made the land for the people of Israel” “to take deep root” which means “to strike into the soil and produce”. Asaph said Jehovah God cleared the ground of the land in which Israel was to be established, and He struck the soil within it so that it was productive.

The verse goes on to say,... and it filled the land. Asaph continued with the words, “and it filled” or “and it, the produce, became abundant and replenished within” “the land” which means “the country, territory, district or region”. Asaph said the region in which the people of Israel were to dwell was abundant with produce.

When we meditate upon the words in this verse, we learn through Asaph how Jehovah God involved Himself in the “land” He established for the people of Israel. God went before them and cleared the land so that it produced an abundant crop. In other words, God prepared the land for them in advance. God loves people, and He wants to have a personal relationship with us whereby He becomes our provision and protection. He sent His Son Jesus into the world to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind, and when we yield to Him, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and make provision for us wherever He may lead. Let us give praise, honor and glory to Jehovah God, His Son Jesus and the Holy Spirit for leading us into the most abundant and productive relationship we shall ever obtain.

Next time Asaph says, “the hills were covered with the shadow of it”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.

Until tomorrow…there is more…
