Falling Birds - Psalms 78:28

In Psalms chapter seventy-eight Asaph shared when Jehovah God sent the people of Israel through the wilderness, “He rained flesh also upon them as dust, and feathered fowls like as the sand of the sea”, and in chapter seventy-eight and verse twenty-eight of Psalms Asaph shared how Jehovah God, “let it fall in the midst of their camp” where we read,

And he let it fall in the midst of their camp, round about their habitations.

The verse begins, And he let it fall in the midst of their camp, ... Asaph began with the words, “and he let it fall” or “and he, Jehovah God, allowed and permitted the birds or quail to be cast down, settled, knocked out and apportioned” “in the midst” which means “within the middle or center” “of their camp” or “pertaining to their, the people of Israel's, encampment, company or army”. Asaph said Jehovah God caused the quail to descend into the middle of the encampment of the people of Israel.

The verse goes on to say,... round about their habitations. Asaph continued with the words, “round about” or “on every side and circuit of” “their habitations” which means “their, the people in Israel's, dwelling places, abodes and tabernacles”. Asaph said the quail fell all around the dwelling places of the people of Israel.

When we think through the words in this verse, we see how Asaph referred to the way Jehovah God allowed the quail to descend into the middle of the “camp” of the people of Israel in the wilderness. They desired “meat”, and God provided “meat” in abundance. God loves to provide for people, and because He loves them, He sent His Son Jesus to be crucified on the cross for the sins of all mankind. When we believe and trust in Him as our personal “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and abundantly supply us with whatever we have need according to His purposes and plans eternally.

Next time Asaph shares how, “they did eat, and were well filled”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.

Until tomorrow…there is more…
