Paul
the apostle asked the Jews in Rome,
“For what if some did not believe? shall their unbelief
make the faith of God without effect?”,
and in chapter three
and verse four of Romans, Paul answered his question, “God
forbid: yes, let God be true, but every man a liar” where we
read:
God
forbid: yes, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written,
That
you might be justified in your sayings, and might overcome when you
are judged.
The
verse begins, “God forbid: yes, let God be true, but
every man a liar;” Paul began
with the word, “God”
which refers to “the Godhead bodily and trinity which is comprised
of God the Father, Christ the Son and the Holy Spirit” “forbid”
or “never, not and in no way”: “yes” or
“moreover and” “let God”
which means “allow to arise, appear in history, come into
existence, begin to be, receive being and to happen” “be
true” or “be truth, speaking
and loving the truth”, “but”
which means “moreover and” “every man”
or “each, all, the whole and everyone human whether male or female”
“a liar” which
means “one who breaks faith or a false and faithless man”. Paul
told how “God”
would never and no way allow His “faith” but
be “without effect”, and that “God”
would “speak and love the truth” while people were known to
“break faith and be faithless”.
The
verse goes on to say, “as it is written, That you might
be justified in your sayings, and might overcome when you are
judged.” Paul added the words,
“as it is written” which
means “in the manner that is delineated with letters on a tablet,
parchment, paper or other material” “that you might”
which means “so God would” “be justified”
or “render, show, exhibit, evince as righteous or such as he ought
to be” “in your sayings” or
“within God's declarations, decrees, mandates and moral precepts”,
“and might overcome”
which means “and would conquer, carry off the victory and come off
victorious over all His foes” “when you are judged”
or “at the time when God would separate, put asunder, pick out,
select, choose, approve, prefer, deem and think” . Paul shared how
God's word would “show and exhibit” His “declarations” and
“conquer and be victorious” over all at the time He “brings
judgment”.
When
we consider these words of Paul, we see Paul's answer “absolutely
not and in no way” to his question as to whether “their
unbelief make the faith of God without effect?” Just
because people do not “believe” the “gospel” of God, it in no
way “alters” “the faith of God”.
God is “righteous”, and His word, the Bible, shall not only
“justify” Him, but also
demonstrate His “overcoming” power over all who are against Him.
Jesus Christ desires for every person to know the Heavenly Father
through “belief and trust” in Him. God will be “justified”
and He shall “overcome”,
and those who are wise shall align with Him while there is time to do
so.
Next
time Paul asked the people in Rome,
“if
our unrighteousness commend the righteousness of God, what shall we
say?”,
so read ahead, and we shall join together then.

tomorrow…there is more…
