Sin to Death and Righteousness to Eternal Life Romans 5:21

Paul the apostle shared with the people in Rome, “the law entered, that the offense might abound.
But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound”, and in chapter five and verse twenty-one of Romans, Paul shared how, “sin has reigned unto death, even so might grace reign … unto eternal life” where we read:

That as sin has reigned unto death, even so might grace reign
through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.
The verse begins, “That as sin has reigned unto death, ...Paul began with the word, “that as sin” which means “so in the same way and manner missing the mark, erring and being mistaken” “has reigned” which means “has ruled, exercised kingly power and governed” “unto death” which means “till that separation, whether natural or violent, of the soul and the body by which the life on earth is ended ”. Paul recognized how “sin” has resulted and “ruled” in each person with “dying” as it's penalty.

The verse continues, ... even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.Paul continued with the words, “even so” which means “also and indeed in this manner and way” “might grace reign” or “may that which affords joy, pleasure, delight, sweetness, charm, loveliness and unmerited favor rule, exercise kingly power and govern” “through righteousness” which means “by means and way of the state of him who is as he ought to be, righteousness and the condition acceptable to God” “unto eternal life” or “living without beginning and end, everlasting, never to cease and that which always has been and always will be” “by Jesus” the the One whose name means “Jehovah is Salvation” and is “the Son of God, the Messiah and God incarnate” “Christ” or “the anointed One, the Messiah and the Son of God” “our Lord” which means “Paul, his companions and his believing readers' one to whom a person or thing belongs about which he has power of deciding; master and the title given to God the Messiah”. Paul shared how “God's grace” now “rules” to “everlasting life” through a relationship with “Jesus Christ our Lord”.

When we meditate upon these words of Paul, we see how the result of “sin” was “death”, however, when God's “grace” entered by way of Jesus Christ, “righteousness unto eternal life” ruled. Now everyone who receives Jesus as their personal “Savior and Lord” shall never know “eternal death” and “separation” from God. God's “gospel” or “good news” through His Son Jesus has made the way for people to be “saved” from “sins' penalty” - “death”, and now “everlasting life” is available for all who turn from their “sins” and “believe”.

Next time we begin a new chapter and see Paul ask the people in Rome, “shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.

Until tomorrow…there is more…
