Paul
the apostle told the Jews in Rome,
“all
have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;”,
and in chapter three and verse twenty-four of Romans, Paul shared how
people become, “
justified freely by His grace”
where we read:
The
verse begins, “Being
justified freely by his grace
...”
Paul began with the words, “being
justified”
which means “rendered righteous or such as a person ought to be”
“freely”
or “undeservedly” “by
his grace”
which means “through that which affords God's joy, pleasure,
delight, sweetness, charm, loveliness and unmerited favor”. Paul
declared how a person becomes “just-as-if-I'd” “never-sinned”
through God's “unmerited favor”.
The
verse continues, “...
through the redemption that is in Jesus Christ:”
Paul
added the word, “through”
or “by the means, grounds and reason of” “the
redemption”
or “the releasing and deliverance effected by payment of ransom”
“that is
in”
which means “which is by and with”
“Christ”
which refers to “the anointed One, the Messiah and the Son of God”
“Jesus”
whose name means “Jehovah is Salvation” and is “the Son of God,
the Savior of mankind and God incarnate” . “Jesus”
provided the “payment of ransom” to
“justify freely”
everyone who believes in Him through “God's grace”.
When
we think through these words of Paul, we discover though every person
has “sinned, and come short of the glory of God”, because
of “Jesus” they may become as though they “never sinned”
at all. This seems impossible, however, this is God's “gospel”
plan of “salvation” for mankind. Jesus Christ came to fulfill to
perfection the “law of God”, and He paid the price for sin
through His death on the cross. After three days He was raised, and
now “salvation” by God's grace is available to everyone, and
every person may be “justified freely” by “Jesus
Christ's” “deliverance effected by payment of ransom”.
Next
time Paul shares with the people in Rome about,“a
propitiation through faith in his blood”,
so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until
tomorrow…there is more…
