One Man's Disobedience and One Man's Obedience Romans 5:19

Paul the apostle shared with the people in Rome, “Therefore as by the offense of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life”, and in chapter five and verse nineteen of Romans, Paul shared about, “one man's disobedience” and one man's “obedience” where we read:

For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners,

so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.

The verse begins, “For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners,” Paul began with the word, “for” which means “even as, indeed, seeing then, no doubt, verily and there fore” “as by one man's disobedience” which means “through one male human's hearing amiss and inattention” “many” which means “a large number” “were made sinners” or “were set, place, put and appointed devoted as wicked and heathen”. Paul shared how “one man's”, “Adam's”, violation of God's law “made” a large number of people “violators” of His law as well.

The verse goes on to say, “so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous. ” Paul continued with the words, “so by the obedience” which means “in this manner and thus the compliance, submission and observing” “of one” or “by one person” “shall many” or “will a large number” “be made righteous” or “be fashioned as innocent, faultless and guiltless”. Paul shared how “one man”, Jesus, “obeyed” the law of God, and this shall result in many people being made “innocent and faultless” before God.

When we think through these words of Paul, we see how he wanted his readers to know that “one person” brought “sin” into the world, and “one person” brought “righteousness” or “salvation” to mankind. Jesus was God's plan for the “sinners” in the world, and when He fulfilled the “law of God”, He made “righteousness” available to all who will “believe and trust” in Him. May all who read these words know the blessing of “God's righteousness” made available to “sinners”.
