Justified by His Blood and Saved from Wrath Romans 5:9

Paul the apostle told the Jews in Rome, “God commends his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us”, and in chapter five and verse nine of Romans, Paul shared how we are, “now justified by his blood” and will “be saved from wrath through him” where we read:

Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.
The verse begins, “Much more then, being now justified by his blood, ...Paul began with the words, “much more then” which means “to a larger and greater decree therefore, accordingly, consequently and these things being so”, “being now justified” or “at this time and moment rendered, shown, exhibited, evinced, considered and pronounced as righteous and just” “by his blood” which means “through and by means of Jesus' bloodshed”. Paul shared being “just-as-if-I'd never sinned” as the added benefit to Jesus dying for people while they were yet “sinners”.

The verse goes on to say, ... we shall be saved from wrath through him.Paul continued with the words, “we shall be saved” or “Paul, his companions and his believing readers will be kept safe, sound and rescued from danger, destruction, injury and peril” “from wrath” which means “separated from anger, temper, indignation and punishment” “through him” which refers to “by means of Jesus”. In addition to being “justified”, Paul shared how those who believe and trust in Jesus will be “kept safe” from the “anger and indignation” of God.

When we meditate upon these words of Paul, we realize how wonderful it is that Jesus “died” for “sinners” who put their “faith and trust” in Him. Not only shall they be made as though they never “sinned”, but they shall also be “rescued” from the “wrath” God that will be poured out upon those who reject He and His Son Jesus. The only way to salvation and eternal life with God is through belief in Jesus Christ as “Savior and Lord”, and when a person “trusts in, relies upon and clings to” Him, they shall made righteous and safe from the “anger” of God.

Next time Paul shares what happened, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.

Until tomorrow…there is more…
