God's Love While Still Sinners Romans 5:8

Paul the apostle told the Jews in Rome, “ scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die”, and in chapter five and verse eight of Romans, Paul added how, “God commends his love toward us” where we read:

But God commends his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
The verse begins, “But God commends his love toward us, ...Paul began with the words, “But God” which means “moreover and the Godhead bodily and trinity which is comprised of God the Father, Christ the Son and the Holy Spirit” “commends” or “demonstrates, puts together by way of composition or combination, shows, proves, establishes and exhibits” “his love” which means “God's affection, good will, benevolence and unconditional love” “toward us” which refers to “to Paul, his companions and his believing readers”. Paul directed his attention toward God “demonstrating” His “unconditional love” toward those who believe.

The verse continues, ... in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.Paul added the words, “in that” which means “because and since”, “while we were yet sinners” or “at the time Paul, his readers and believing readers had missed the mark, erred and were mistaken”, “Christ” which refers to “the anointed One, the Messiah and the Son of God” “died” or “perished by a violent death” “for us” which refers to “on behalf and for the sake of Paul, his companions and his believing readers”. Paul told his readers that Jesus died for them while they were in their “sinful” state, and this demonstrated His vast “love” for people.

When we consider these words of Paul, we see how much God loves people. Even while they are in their “sinful” state, He gave His Son Jesus to die for their “sins”. This shows us the lack of need to “clean up” or “get right” before they come to Christ. He “died” for them in their “sinful” condition. God's door is open wide for everyone to receive “salvation” from the penalty of sin because Jesus “died” on the cross and afterward was risen on the third day. There is only one requirement, “come”. Just as you are, “come”, and Jesus shall forgive and cleanse you from every wrong you have ever done.

Next time Paul shares how,God commends his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.

Until tomorrow…there is more…
