All Sins Shall Be Forgiven - Mark 3:28

Mark wrote how Jesus spoke in parables to the “scribes” and asked, “How can Satan cast out Satan? And if a kingdom be divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. And if a house be divided against itself, that house cannot stand. And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but has an end. No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strong man; and then he will spoil his house”, and in chapter three and verse twenty-eight of his book, Mark shares what Jesus said, “all sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men” where we read:

Verily I say unto you, All sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men,

and blasphemies wherewith soever they shall blaspheme:

The verse reads, “Verily I say unto you, All sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, ... Mark began with the word, “Verily” or “surely and truly” “I say unto you” or “Jesus utters, declares and proclaims to the scribes”, “All sins” which means “each, every, the whole and everyone of the mistakes, errors, missing of the mark and evil deeds” “shall be forgiven” or “will be sent away, disregarded, remitted and left destitute” “unto the sons of men” which means “toward the offspring, progeny and children of people whether male or female”. Mark shared how Jesus told the “scribes” and the people surrounding Him that “each and every” wrong people ever do and did is able to be “forgiven” by God.

The verse continues, “... and blasphemies wherewith soever they shall blaspheme.” Mark added the words “and blasphemies” which refers to “and slanders, detractions, injurious speech to another's good name, impiousness and reproachful talk” “wherewith soever” or “as far as and however many times and occasions when” “they shall blaspheme” which means “the people who speak injuriously and slanderously”. Mark shared how Jesus also included “slanderous and injurious” speech against others as “forgivable” regardless of how many times they speak reproachfully.

When we think through Mark's words in this verse, we see how Jesus said “every sin” is able to be “forgiven”. God's desire is to demonstrate His awesome love toward people through His Son Jesus paying the price for every “sin” people commit. Jesus will make only one exception to this which is shown in the next verse, however, for this lesson, let all who read these words realize there is a “forgiving God” who stands ready to forgive them for every “sin” they have ever committed, and all people are welcomed to be in a relationship with Him through His Son Jesus.

Next time Mark shares how Jesus says, “he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost has never forgiveness”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
