Jesus Must Preach in Other Cities Also - Luke 4:43

The beloved physician Luke shared how, “devils also came out of many, crying out, and saying, You are Christ the Son of God. And” Jesus “rebuking them suffered them not to speak: for they knew that he was Christ. And when it was day, he departed and went into a desert place: and the people sought him, and came unto him, and stayed him, that he should not depart from them”, and in chapter four and verse forty-three of his book Luke shared how Jesus said, “I must preach the kingdom of God to other cities also” where we read:

And he said unto them, I must preach the kingdom of God to other cities also: for therefore am I sent.

The verse reads,And he said unto them, I must preach the kingdom of God to other cities also: Luke began with the words, “and he said unto them” or “and Jesus uttered, declared and proclaimed to the people who looked for Jesus”, “I must preach” which means “it is of necessity, duty and equity that Jesus Himself declare, herald, proclaim, evangelize and publicly publish the good tidings of” “the kingdom of God” or “the royal power, kingship, dominion and rule belonging to the Godhead bodily and trinity which is comprised of God the Father, Christ the Son and the Holy Spirit” “to other cities also” which means “even and indeed to a number of other or different dwelling places, abodes, habitations and towns”. Luke shared how Jesus said it was “necessary” for Him to “herald” the “gospel, dominion and rule” of God's Kingdom to other places where people lived.

The verse goes on to say, for therefore am I sent. Luke continues with the words, “for therefore” which means “because, since and on account that towards and to that end” “am I sent” or “was Jesus discharged, appointed and sent away”. Luke shared how Jesus said “proclaiming the Kingdom of God” was the reason He was discharged into the world.

When we consider Luke's words in this verse, we learn Jesus' purpose for coming to the earth. Jesus was “sent” to proclaim the “gospel” or “good news” concerning the “Kingdom of God” which included God sending Him to the earth to die for the sins of the world so all people would have an opportunity to receive Him as their “Savior and Lord”. Jesus needed to share with “other cities” so they might hear His words and believe and trust in Him as well. The Bible was given to mankind to learn about God's desire to have a personal relationship with every person through His Son Jesus, and Jesus' mission continues today as He proclaims, “salvation” that has been made possible by Him dying on the cross to pay the price for the sins of the world. Let all who consider these things yield to the one whose mission was to share “the Kingdom of God” is among you.

Next time Luke shares how Jesus, “preached in the synagogues of Galilee”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
