Luke the physician shared how, “Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and there went out a fame of him through all the region round about”, and in chapter four and verse fifteen of his book Luke shared how Jesus, “taught in their synagogues” where we read:
And he taught in their synagogues, being glorified of all.
The verse reads, “And he taught in their synagogues, ...” Luke began with the words, “and he taught” or “and Jesus held discourses with others to instruct them, delivered, discharged, imparted and instilled doctrine into the people” “in their synagogues” which means “within the assembly of Jews formally gathered together to offer prayers and listen to the reading and expositions of the scriptures”. Luke shared how Jesus delivered teachings to the people within their “gathering place for worship”.
The verse goes on to say, “... being glorified of all.” Luke continued with the words, “being glorified” which means “ thinking, supposing, praising, extolling, magnifying and celebrating Jesus” “of all” or “be each, every, the whole and everyone of the people”. Luke shared how “all” the people within the “synagogues” were “celebrating and praising” Jesus.
When we meditate upon Luke's words in this verse, we learn what Jesus did when He returned to “Galilee”. He went into the “synagogues” and began to teach the people. Jesus expounded upon the Kingdom of God throughout His earthly ministry, and when people heard Him teach, they were amazed and marveled at His words. God desires for all people to know the principles of His Kingdom, and when they submit themselves to His Son Jesus as their personal “Savior and Lord”, they shall receive forgiveness for their sins and eternal life with God. Let all who discover Jesus' teachings yield their lives to Him.
Next time Luke shares how Jesus, “came to Nazareth” and “went into the synagogue”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
