Jesus Returns and is Famous - Luke 4:14

Luke the physician shared how Jesus, “ full of the Holy Ghost returned from Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness. Being forty days tempted of the devil. And in those days he did eat nothing: and when they were ended, he afterward hungered. And the devil said unto him, If you are the Son of God, command this stone that it be made bread. And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God. And the devil, taking him up into an high mountain, showed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give you, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it. If you therefore will worship me, all shall be yours. And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, you shall worship the Lord your God, and him only shall you serve. And he brought him to Jerusalem, and set him on a pinnacle of the temple, and said unto him, If you are the Son of God, cast yourself down from here: For it is written, He shall give his angels charge over you, to keep you: And in their hands they shall bear you up, lest at any time you dash your foot against a stone. And Jesus answering said unto him, It is said, you shall not tempt the Lord your God. And when the devil had ended all the temptation, he departed from him for a season”, and in chapter four and verse fourteen of his book Luke shared how, “Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee, and there went out a fame of him” where we read:

And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee:

and there went out a fame of him through all the region round about.

The verse reads, “And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: Luke began with the words, “and Jesus ” or “the Son of God, the Savior of mankind and God incarnate whose name means Jehovah is Salvation” “returned in power” which means “turned back in the strength, might, virtue and miracle” “of the Spirit” or “belonging to the third person of the triune God, the Holy Spirit who is coequal and coeternal with the Father and the Son” “into Galilee” which is “the name of a region of northern Palestine, bounded on the north by Syria, on the west by Sidon, Tyre, Ptolemais and their territories and the promontory of Carmel, on the south by Samaria and on the east by the Jordan”. Luke shared how Jesus had the “power” of God's Spirit with Him as He left the desert area to “return” to “Galilee”.

The verse continues, “and there went out a fame of him through all the region round about.” Luke added the words, “and there went out a fame of him” which means “and there proceeded forth and spread a rumor, saying a report” “through all the region round about” or “down from, through out, according to and along the entire, whole and complete neighboring area which was circumjacent to the area of Galilee”. Luke shared how Jesus became “well-known” in the “area” all around Galilee.

When we consider Luke's words in this verse, we see how Jesus was walking in the Spirit of God, and His life was like a beacon of God's grace, mercy and miracles toward mankind. God loves people, and He wants them to be “saved” from their “sins” by yielding their lives to His Son Jesus so they may have a relationship with Him. Let all who consider the “Spirit of God” and “fame” that was in Jesus submit their lives to Him as their “Savior and Lord”.

Next time Luke shares how Jesus, “taught in their synagogues”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
