Jesus' Judgment is True - John 8:16

John the apostle wrote, “Then spoke Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that follows me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life. The Pharisees therefore said unto him, You bear record of yourself; your record is not true. Jesus answered and said unto them, Though I bear record of myself, yet my record is true: for I know from where I came, and where I go; but you cannot tell where I come from, and where I go. You judge after the flesh; I judge no man, and in chapter eight and verse sixteen of his book John shared how Jesus told the Pharisees, yet if I judge, my judgment is true where we read:

And yet if I judge, my judgment is true: for I am not alone, but I and the Father that sent me.

The verse reads,And yet if I judge, my judgment is true:” John began with the words, “and yet if I judge” which means “and still, even so and indeed whether I, Jesus, determine, resolve, decree and produce an opinion concerning right and wrong”, “my judgment is true” or “my, Jesus', determination, resolve, decree and production an opinion concerning right and wrong exists as truthful”. John shared how Jesus declared His “judgment” to be “truthful” whenever He decided to “judge”.

The verse goes on to say, for I am not alone, but I and the Father that sent me.” John continued with the words, “for I am not alone” which means “because, since and on account that I, Jesus, do not exist as forsaken, destitute of help and without a companion”, “but I and the Father” or “nevertheless, notwithstanding and moreover I, Jesus, and God the Heavenly Father” “that sent me” which means “who dispatched and assigned me, Jesus”. John shared how Jesus declared Himself not to be “by Himself and without a companion” because “God His Father” who “dispatched” Him was also with Him.

When we think through John's words in this verse, we learn how there is a direct connection between Jesus' relationship with His Father God and His “judgment”. Jesus was and is the “truthful” “judge”, and whenever He brings forth that which is “right, wrong, just and correct”, He has the fullness and holiness of His Father God with Him. God's desire was to “send” Jesus to the world not only to proclaim that which is “just and right”, but to offer salvation to people who have violated His law. Jesus came to save people from the penalty of sin which is death (See Romans 6:23), and anyone who believes and trusts in Him as their personal “Savior and Lord” will be forgiven of their sins and inherit everlasting life with God. Those who are wise will understand Jesus puts forth “truthful judgment”, and His Heavenly Father is with Him as He does.

Next time John shares how Jesus tells the Pharisees their law says, the testimony of two men is true, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
