Jesus' Time Had Not Yet Come - John 7:6

John the apostle wrote how, “Jesus walked in Galilee: for he would not walk in Jewry, because the Jews sought to kill him. His brethren therefore said unto him, Depart from here, and go into Judaea, that your disciples also may see the works that you do. For there is no man that does any thing in secret, and he himself seeks to be known openly. If you do these things, show yourself to the world. For neither did his brethren believe in him”, and in chapter seven and verse six of his book, John shared how Jesus said, “My time is not yet come” where we read:

Then Jesus said unto them, My time is not yet come: but your time is always ready.

The verse reads,Then Jesus said unto them, My time is not yet come:” John began with the words, “Then Jesus” or “at that time the Son of God, the Savior of mankind and God incarnate whose name means Jehovah is Salvation” “said unto them” which means “uttered, declared and proclaimed to His brothers”, “My time” or “my, Jesus' own, due measure, fixed, opportune and seasonable period” “is not yet come” which means “has not at this moment arisen or appeared”. John shared how Jesus responded to His brother by referring to it not yet being His “time” or “opportune season”.

The verse continues, “but your time is always ready.” John added the words, “but your time” which means “however, nevertheless, notwithstanding and moreover your, Jesus' brothers' due measure, fixed, opportune and seasonable period” “is always ready” or “exists as at all times, ever and evermore prepared and adjusted”. John shared how Jesus told His “brothers” their “opportune season” is “evermore prepared”.

When we consider John's words in this verse, we realize Jesus was telling His “brothers” it was not the opportune time for Him to go to “Judaea”, however they were able to go any time they desired. God desires to have a personal relationship with every person through His Son Jesus, and when they yield their life to Him as their “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive them of their sins and grant them everlasting life with His Father God. Jesus' timing was perfect, and because He died for their sins and rose from the grave three days later, now is the opportune time to receive Him.

Next time John shares how Jesus says, “the world cannot hate you; but me it hates”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
