Another Angel Flying in Heaven Revelation 14:6

After writing about the “beast or the antichrist” and “the dragon – the devil or Satan” being worshiped by people upon the earth, John the apostle wrote, “And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with him an hundred forty and four thousand, having his Father's name written in their foreheads. And I heard a voice from heaven, as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of a great thunder: and I heard the voice of harpers harping with their harps. And they sung as it were a new song before the throne, and before the four beasts, and the elders: and no man could learn that song but the hundred and forty and four thousand, which were redeemed from the earth. These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb wherever he goes. These were redeemed from among men, being the first-fruits unto God and to the Lamb. And in their mouth was found no guile: for they are without fault before the throne of God, and in chapter fourteen and verse six of Revelation John saw “another angel flying in heaven” where we read:

And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people,

The verse reads, And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, ... John began with the words, “and I saw” which means “and John noticed, discerned and discovered” “another angel” or “one other messenger, envoy or one sent” “fly” which means “take flight” “in the midst” or “in the middle or center-point” “of heaven” which means “of the region of the highest point in the sky where what is done can be seen and heard by all”, “having” or “holding, owning and possessing” “the everlasting gospel” which means “the without beginning and end and never to cease good news and glad tidings” “to preach” or “to herald, proclaim and announce” “unto them” which refers to “toward the people” “that dwell” or “who live and abide” “on the earth” which means “upon the arable land, country, territory and region”. John watched as “another angel” appeared who was flying in the middle of the sky so he could “announce” the “good news of Jesus Christ” to all the people who occupied the earth.

The verse continues, “... and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people,” John added the words, “and to every nation” which refers to “and toward, each, all, the whole and everyone of the multitudes, companies and people groups” “and kindred” or “and the tribes, races or clans”, “and tongue” which means “and the languages, speech and dialects”different from one another” “and people” or “all those who are of the same stock and language”. John saw how this “angel” “preached” the “everlasting gospel” to every person regardless of their language, nation or affiliation around the world.

When we think through John's words in this verse, we see how awesome is the mission of this great “angel” of God. The “whole world” will hear the “good news” of Jesus dying for their sins and being raised to life again after three days. Belief and trust in this “gospel” that lasts forever and ever will give people “everlasting life” and “whosoever believes in Him, should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16). God allows yet another opportunity in the great tribulation on the earth for people to receive His plan of salvation and those who are wise shall accept His son Jesus as their personal “Savior and Lord” while the chance is still available.

Next time John shares how he heard this angel, “saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
